Community Portal. This is a very powerful tool accessed through a secure
web site which is branded for each community. Once logged on to their
Community Portal, users can interact with other residents, correspond
with the property management, chat with neighbors about similar interests,
reserve community facilities (including tee time reservations and restaurant
times), set up clubs or pool parties, share interests, find out about
community meetings and school events, find babysitters, get homework
help, or catch up with neighborhood news.
Local merchants such as dry cleaners and grocers will
advertise online, while some even offer discounts and delivery services
to residents via the Web.
The property management or HOA can use the Community
Portal to disseminate important information to the community, use it
as a resource pool for residents, allow residents to submit information
such as maintenance requests and even see a live video camera shot of
the community.
